fusi&fusi™

the company was founded in 2000, receiving the prestigious inheritance of two historical brands in the panorama of the Sienese handicrafts: Ciocchetti incisore in Siena dal 1887™” and “La timbri targhe 1961™.

- 1887 :  the “atelier de gravure” Ciocchetti was opened up in Siena by Cavalier Luigi Ciocchetti,  engraver of the Royal House of Italy, who, since the first years of his activity, had been creating advertising in two different languages, Italian and French, as a proof of the international imprint of his business.

At that time, the city of Siena was already a world crossroad for its historical and artistic heritage, a position that strengthened between the two world wars and that was finally confirmed in the second post-war period. Ciocchetti’s engravings became classical Sienese products of that period, appreciated both in Italy and abroad.

- 1957: young Gianfranco Fusi learns the art of hand engraving, coining and treatment of metals in the workshop of Cavalier Ciocchetti.

- 1961: Gianfranco Fusi opens, as a partnership, "La timbri targhe 1961™".

A company for engraving, stamp production & sales of awardings, immediately equipped with forefront machinery, keeping up, on his own, the craft learnt from Mr. Ciocchetti.

Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank was among the first customers of the recently founded company.

1973: La timbri targhe 1961™ opens a show room in historical downtown Siena, the first one in Italy for the exhibition and sale of engraving and awarding,  proposing a functional design of furniture, typical of that time, and becoming, for its avant-garde style, a top destination for visits by professionals coming from different parts of Italy.

- 1980: first in Italy, La timbri targhe 1961™ installs, in the just built handicrafts area, at that time outskirts, now vital thoroughfare of the city, a computerized station for the manufacturing of stamps and polymeric and at the same time begins to trade in sports equipment, supplying sports clubs and always paying attention to the evolution of sports and  sportswear. It is one of the first shops selling wind-surf and marine wears that since then have become a fashion trend.

- 1989: La timbri targhe 1961™ acquires the shop “Ciocchetti incisore in Siena dal 1887™”, that risked to disappear from the city scene, thus ensuring continuity with Cavalier Luigi’s experience.

- 1996: the sports equipment shop is enlarged and the thermoprinting laboratory for plates and fabrics is installed.

- 1999: at the end of the year, the activity of the La timbri targhe 1961™ company comes to an end.

- 2000: the company fusi&fusi™ is founded on the initiative of the Fusi family, who immediately registers the trademarks La timbri targhe 1961™ and Ciocchetti incisore in Siena dal 1887™ as elements of continuity and development of the past experiences.

- 2001: fusi&fusi™ , first in Siena, installs a laser marking station and, at the same time, the company becomes multiethnic.

- 2003: the shop located in via delle terme 86 is  restored and it is immediately included among the historical trading activities of Siena; in the same year a laser marking station is also purchased, the first one in Siena; together with this new technology the ancient art of hand engraving is continued, starting a new exclusive production: jeweller’s craft.

- 2004: the two historical brands of the new company are invited to the "historical shops" exhibition, held in the Magazzini del Sale, Civic Museum of Siena as an outstanding reality of the Sienese tradition.

- 2006: fusi&fusi™ installs a station for embroidery and tailoring, and strengthens the thermoprinting sector using new concept presses.

- 2007: fusi&fusi™ installs a second station for the laser marking, and the store is automated with the acquisition of the KARDEX system (first company in Siena).

- 2008: fusi&fusi™ is selected by MENS SANA BASKET (Italian League winners!) as a retailer of its merchandising.

- 2009: fusi&fusi™ becomes importer for Italy of Sign products, metal stamps and offices supplies.
